Winter Movements

Winter, the time of Water Energy, where we rest, look inward, condense, and contain our energy to endure until Spring. Here we focus on our kidneys which control the water in our body and relates to the circulation of bodily fluids like blood.

The kidney helps to purify our bodies and drinking lots of water is critical for ensuring proper kidney function. Although it is a time of rest this does not mean one should not be active at all. Doing fluid exercises like those found in Qigong and Tai Chi are good to help energy flow through your body in the less active times of the year, helping to prevent internal blockages from building up.
